Jerusalem Centers Uplift Children in Need

Yad Ezra V’Shulamit is expanding its center in the HaBukharim quarter to support more of Jerusalem’s children in need. These efforts will make a significant and positive difference in the lives of the many children who need these centers.

Large numbers

Currently, 33% of all children in Israel are living under the poverty line. Recent data suggests that there are roughly 3 million Israelis under the age of 18, meaning about 1 million children fall under the poverty line.

Yad Ezra V’Shulamit in working tirelessly to address this crisis. Founder Aryeh Lurie said, “Our new center will change the lives of thousands.”

What’s available at the center?

Our previous article highlighted some of the services our center provides including hot meals, homework help, therapy sessions, and winter clothing distribution. These services take place in up-to-date, safe, and well-designed facilities.

For example, the children enjoy their meals in a bright, welcoming dining room that fosters a positive and inviting atmosphere for all. And homework help is offered in modern and equipped classrooms.

Resource Rooms
Our two resource rooms offer individualized support from skilled tutors and therapists. These spaces help students overcome learning challenges and achieve personal growth.

Gymboree
The gymboree is a lively space designed for active play. With mats, foam equipment, and other features, children can burn off energy, develop motor skills, and have fun with their peers.

Library
Our cozy library is a magical place where young minds can soar. Filled with a diverse collection
of books, this inviting space inspires a love of reading and sparks a lifelong passion for learning.

Snoezelen Room
This specially designed sensory room promotes relaxation and emotional regulation. It provides a safe and calming environment where children can explore their senses and manage their emotions.
